Prof. K. V. Rao, is the Former Vice-Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University and In-charge of Krishna & Vikrama Simhapuri Universities, Andhra Pradesh and basically Professor in the Department of Commerce and Business Administration, Acharya Nagarjuna University. He received his M. Com. from Nagarjuna University and secured 1st Rank. Then started his career as Research Scholar in 1977 and secured Ph.D. in 1982. His research interests are focused on Public Enterprises, Advanced Banking and Finance and Academic Administration. Guided 10 Ph.D.s and 14 M. Phil.s so far and 10 more are working for their Research Degrees. He has 35 years of teaching experience in the field of Commerce & Management Studies and attempted many innovations in Teaching. Presently he is the Director of SEA Group of Institutions, K.R. Puram, Bangalore.
He has authored 10 Books in the areas of Financial Management, Industrial Economy and Banking. He contributed chapters to Books at the level of UG, PG and Research and course designer and contributor for the IGNOU for M.Com. & M.B.A. and various other Distance Schools. His Latest Book entitled “Management of Schools in India – A Functional Analysis” coauthored with Dr. N.P. Prabhakara Rao was published by Lombart Academic Publishing, Germany.
As a prolific writer, published 121 research papers in National and International Journals like Indian Journal of Commerce, Capital, Lok Udyog, IPE Journal, Chartered Accountant, Chartered Secretary, Management Accountant, Vikalpa, SEDME, Khadi Gramodyog, Monthly Commentary, University News, Economic Times, HRD Times, Financial Express, Business Standard, The Hindu, Indian Co-operative Review,
Indian Journal of Finance, etc. His book on Business Ethics and Corporate Governance is published in 2017 by IK International.
He attended National and International Conferences and submitted papers for discussion and issues covered have shaped the policy making at the State and National level. Mr. Rao visited France during June 1985, South Korea during July 2001 and Thailand during February 2009, U.S.A. and Republic of Panama during October, 2011.
Mr. Rao also worked as Financial Advisor to Vice-Chancellor, Special Officer (Exams), Member of Academic Senate, Head of the Department, Chairman of Board of Studies in Commerce & Business Administration (P.G.), Dean, College Development Council, Registrar and Rector (Pro-Vice-Chancellor).
He received Best Research Paper Award twice from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, New Delhi, 2002 & 2005 and Best Teacher Award from Government of Andhra Pradesh during 2009 and received Outstanding Excellence in Academic Leadership Award from Nexus Eclat Honours Society, Maryland, USA during 2012. He has been a visiting fellow of University Grants Commission.
