We the NSS unit of S.E.A College of Nursing organised a seminar on lead poisoning and effects of Tobacco on January 13th. Dr. Mutthe gowda Principal Degree College ,Prof. Hemam Sangeeta Devi Principal S.E.A College of Nursing, Mrs. Jacline Jabagani Vice Principal S.E.A College of Nursing, Mr. Jagadish H.OD of Arts, Mrs. Vernonsiya H.O.D Paediatrics were among the Guest who attended the Function.
The Inaugural function was made grand with NSS song, watering of plants symbolizing a new beginning and speech by the Dignotories. After the inaugural programme Mrs. Deepa .S. Nair NSS Officer of S.E.A College of Nursing took class on Lead Poisoning for 45 min and Mr. Akash spoke on the Effects of smoking for 45 min. The Beneficiaries for the programme were BA and BSC students from Degree Block and Nursing students who were 80 in number altogether. The seminar was effective and students understood the topic well as the topic was relevant for the students.
Sea College Nursing students takes part in Pulse Polio programme every year. A class is taken by Dr. Sheela Medical Officer from PHC Seegehalli every year prior to the programme to orient the students. On the day of the programme students report to K. R. Puram Hospital and from there along with supervisors they are posted in various areas and all children below the age group of 5 years are given polio drops. First day students are posted in booths and second day onwards students go to houses to give polio drops to children who have not come to the booths.
